Chilcotin Holidays

Skill focus – Shelter Building: one of your guide lessons

Being able to build a wilderness shelter strictly from material found in the bush can be critical when out on a trip in the remote wilderness.

You may find yourself spike-camping on a mountain top, on the side of a valley or by a lake shore because you were stalking wildlife or other reasons, and you're running out of daylight to get back to your base camp. Depending on your location and the weather conditions, building a shelter may be necessary. As one of your guide lessons you will practice how to survive in the outdoors in case of emergency.

Looks like the guide lessons were good! Some students in their shelter.
