Wilderness Outdoor Hiking is back!

After a long break, we gained new enthusiasm to revive our Wilderness Outdoor Hiking program at the Chilcotin Holidays Guest Ranch! Throughout the last year, our staff spent their energy predominantly on planning, preparing and leading pack trips to the tops of the Chilcotin Mountains. Therefore, we are more than happy to welcome our new qualified outdoor hiking guide Kate who is dedicated to taking you on outdoor hiking trips through one of the most beautiful spots in British Columbia.

The Chilcotin Range is unique in its composition: Unlike the rough appearance of the granite Coast Mountains, the Chilcotin Mountains are rather smooth with sandy, rounded mountain tops and wide valleys which provide a marvelous view and make even the alpine accessible for outdoor hiking trips. Due to their location on the leeward side of the Coast Range, the climate is warm and dry and gives rise to a rich variety of plants and wildlife including Grizzly and black bears, Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goat and deer whom are frequent visitors on our trails.

Our ranch is located in the remote wilderness of the South Chilcotin Mountains and while it is easily reachable by car our trail routes lead through untouched nature - accessible only by foot, horse or float plane. Whether you decide on a ranch-based stay with day trips to the surrounding natural highlights or enjoy the remoteness of one of our camps during a 4 or 7 day trip, we will guarantee a authentic wilderness experience. Beginner or advanced hiker, we offer customized guided outdoor hiking trips where we match your abilities and interests to make it a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
