Chilcotin Holidays

I learnt how to ride horses

I am a 19 years old guy and I have never touched a horse of my whole life. My first experience with horses was 1 week ago, when I brought one in another field with a halter. My father is totally mad about the Western movies, so I am used to see some Cow-Boys and Indians riding horses and I have always found it very cool ! Nevertheless, I had never get the opportunity to learn how to ride a horse. But now, at the Chilcotin Holidays's Ranch, the time of this experience has come.

Obviously, I am not afraid or scared about these incredible horses, and I have often wished about learn how to ride one of them. Therefore, I asked to some experienced riders at the ranch to teach me their passion. They are always so happy and enthusiastic to teach to new people how to ride horses. Therefore, even if you have really no horse experiences, you will be able to ride one at the end of the day. Firstly, they taught me how to saddle and to correctly put all the stuff on your horse. Afterwards, they show you a little situation of how to ride and what to do in which cases.

At the end of the day, you can enjoy your moment and build your own experience. As you just learnt how to ride horses, you will ride one and practice your skills ! This moment was really cool, I will remembered it for my whole life. I rode a black one, he was beautiful and strong ! Also, we rode for a moment, to become comfortable with our horse. Then, we did some exercises like a way to enjoy this great experience.

Finally, they teach you how to go faster with your horse if you want to try it. Mine was named Duke, and apparently he never does it because he is lazy and he doesn't like to canter. However, he did it with me and that was incredible. Even the riders whom were teaching us were so surprised of that moment. I lived a beautiful experience, and now I learnt to ride horses, I am so enthusiastic to ride them again.
