The freedom from office job

People associate Office jobs to being indoors and surrounded by walls. Now, picture it outside, with your paperwork and phone, looking to the mountains. It sounds so ideal, right? The office jobs are not usually the problem; it’s just being away from the fresh air and constantly in front of a computer that isn’t so ideal. If you find a possibility to get yourself outside, then take that chance and do it. Forget about job rank, look into what you can develop and do within a business.

Job training is a self selection process here. If you find the information, then you will be given the opportunity to make use of it. In life, people are taught that the only way to learn is through education. The UK is too reliant on certificates and education systems to allow anyone to progress. Job training is only acquired through certification and job rank is regarded very highly for a person to live well. To a certain extent, it is important that people have something to verify that they are able to perform a job, but it’s not essential to get you further in life. I remember reading a short extract from an article and its end questioning summary was 'If your loved one dropped to the floor, if someone tried to save their life, would you ask them for a doctors certificate?' I believe that it would be more likely to happen in the UK than other parts of the country.

I have chosen to make the most of the lodge job, alongside all of the other aspects of the ranch. I’m immersed in its culture, history and philosophy. With the occasional office jobs, I am given the freedom to work within the lodge jobs as well. Every day, I have taken steps to become aware of activities that are available and learning how to do tasks that I have never done before. In a standard work environment, it could possibly take a long time for this to happen and also will need to be assigned by someone else. An example of how I’ve progressed into lodge jobs, is by knowing when a guest is leaving and how to set up the rooms for each guest. All the information is provided; I just need research, to improve my understanding of the work.

Everything is taken to its full potential here and the only thing that matters and the only way to get to places is through your own initiative. Ask yourself, Am I taking myself in the right direction?
