Being
surrounded by nature and wildlife is the best way to learn more about
yourself and your goals and purpose in life. Here you have the time
to think about you and what you want to do, who you want to be, and
what you want to accomplish in life. We all have dreams deep inside,
we think it's just a fantasy and it's not something which is going to
happen.
One
day at lunch, we had this discussion about how we have an impact on
one another and what we want to do after for having an impact on
people. And at this moment, you can tell the difference between the
new staff members who just arrived and the other ones who are here for
a few months now. I could see myself a few months ago in the speech
of some new staff: "I don't have goals.", "I don't
think that I have an impact on people."
I
think when people come here they are a little lost in their lives, in
their wishes and don't really know where they want to go and what
they want to do. It was my state of mind at the beginning. I always
did what was expected of me, and chose to come to Chilcotin Holidays,
far away from my comfort zone was one of my first choices for me and
not to please someone else. I did it for myself.
All
the activities, rides or hikes we are doing here are a challenge for
each of us every day, all of that is providing me the chance to think
a lot about what I want to do, who I want to be and how I want to
contribute to the development of the world. A lot of self-reflection!
I started to think out of the boxes I put myself in, and started to
take down all the barriers I had in my mind. I focused on what I like
and what I want to do later in the future and though that nothing is
impossible. If you really want something, if you want to reach your
goals you have to make everything possible for that. Everything is
possible, you just have to believe in you and your abilities.
Now
my future is clearer in my mind and I know that the first obstacle on
your way to your purpose is yourself. Just trust in you and do
everything in life that makes you happy and confident.
The
Ranch, the environment here and all these amazing people are a part
of the self-reflection process I have been through. Without these
people, without their support the things wouldn't be the same for me
and I think I would not have evolved as I did if I didn't make the
choice to come here.
