Chilcotin Holidays

Stewardship of the Chilcotin Mountains

There are many facets to the Chilcotin Mountains, which is a magical place with completely different landscape for each season. Within the Mountains, Chilcotin Holidays is surrounded by the myriad of nature that British Columbia has to offer. It is influenced by the ever-changing pockets that the mountains hold, caused by rain shadow. Every spring, the snow begins to melt, slowly receding up the mountains, and so the journey of the animals and nature begins. Life here is constantly on the move, governed by the season following the snow line and it becomes clear why the Chilcotin First Nations were known as “the people of the blue water” – the glaciers give the lakes throughout our territory an emerald turquoise color. The breathtaking landscape and biodiversity of the Chilcotin Mountains are a stirring spectacle which is exceptional even in comparison with Canada’s other natural wonders.

Conservation is more than a word to Chilcotin Holidays. It is the ranches roots, with everyone’s involvement in understanding the wildlife, culture and habitats within the ecology. All of nature is dependent upon one another and their well-being requires a dedicated, strategic plan of action among conservationists.

This is why Chilcotin Holidays is involved in conservation – it’s surrounded by nature and is part of the ecology. We, as humans, are responsible to make sure that the natural world is able to continue to flourish.
